Were there any changes in this last update that I need to make? The script to add sound to startup doesn't work even though it's set to call at startup and the .sh file exists in the folder.

Did the script you wrote work originally ?

Since the last system update, the PC has lost sound again.
I checked to see if the script file for the sound had disappeared, or if the shortcut in the launcher had gone missing. However, both are still there. Following the steps manually, as I did before using the script, the sound returns. I noticed that now two floating windows appear showing the sound level when I increase or decrease the volume.

You might update every day or once a month so the 'last system update' covers a wide range. Do you know specifically which package update caused your problem ?
Do you keep system snapshots ? Generally, system updates don't require user intervention but we don't know details on your workaround or how it may have changed since it last worked. Quote:Following the steps manually, as I did before using the script, the sound returns.Do you mean using the GUI ?

I'm having to manually make the change every time I restart.
Now with the end-of-year rush, I'll stay like this, then when I have time I'll format it. And if I can't use the script anymore, I'll try to find another Linux distribution that isn't so heavy. I removed the startup shortcut and .sh file and restarted the pc I recreated them and restarted the PC and nothing however, typing commands in the terminal changes So, in some update, it is not possible to run .sh at startup or something broke in the system that now it cannot be done |
