Currently I have been running the computer on 4.12!  I haven't noticed much of a difference between the 4.10 and 4.12.  I know the monitor, keyboard, and mouse all work but I haven't tested the sound yet.  Jerry I don't know how your managing the kernels for this distro.  But wikipeida says 4.10 EOL (maintained from February 2017 to May 2017)  Are you taking care of security for every Kernel that is in the lite tweaks?  I'm just wondering about how all of this works...  Thanks for making a wonderful distro.

4.13 Linux Lite Kernel is now available for 32 & 64bit machines.

These kernels are built for:

- Series 2.x (beryl/trusty)
- Series 3.x (citrine/xenial)

Open a terminal and do:

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install linux-headers-linuxlite-4.13.0 linux-image-linuxlite-4.13.0 linux-firmware-image-linuxlite-4.13.0 -y

If you prefer the point-and-click option, go to Menu, System, Lite Tweaks and select Kernel Installer.



NOTE: If you use proprietary drivers, this kernel may break functionality with those drivers. If you have proprietary drivers installed and you still decide to go ahead with this kernel install, you should be competent in repairing your drivers. If you aren't, DO NOT install this kernel.

IMPORTANT: Only install this kernel if you need it or if you are adept at getting out of trouble from a TTY.

No, what I meant was (I should have been more specific): at what release of LL will a newer kernel be installed as the default? LL 3.8 (and when is that due?)? or do we have to wait for the LL 4.X series?
