updating from 1.2 to 3.6 on a Windows 10/Linux Lite dual boot

I have a dual boot with an old version of Linux Lite (1.2). I would like to upgrade to 3.6.

I did the installation using the instructions on a YouTube video that has the boot choice controlled by the Windows menu and would like to know how I can upgrade without messing that up.

I don't think that's possible, I don't even think it's possible to upgrade from 2.x series to 3.6. You'll have to download LL 3.6 .iso and do a fresh install. Grab it from here https://www.135978621.xyz/download.php

There is no between series upgrade.  In other words, you cannot go from 1.2 to 3.6 directly.  You would absolutely need to do a clean install to Linux Lite 3.6.

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I had to reinstall it. On one machine, that originally had a dual boot with 1.2 and Windows 7, and had been upgraded to Windows 10, I installed it in the same partition as 1.2 and it worked beautifully. The Windows Dual Boot that I made with EasyBCD still works.

On another machine, however, that was already running Windows 8 won't let me modify the boot menu with EasyBCD, so I'm not sure yet what I'm doing with that one. but at least one is working.

Win 8 was preinstalled and have this new Bios uefi witch is trickier! but dual boot can be done.
