		Everything up to entering the terminal code was done with no problem. 
ln: failed to create symbolic link ‘/etc/skel/.local/share/applications/defaults.list’: File exists
I get this in the terminal after entering what you have asked.
Yea this is clearly my fault, sooner or later I always seem to get these weird issues. Always tinkering.
