Just my observation..
I have been trying lots of Backup programs, and they all work, but vary in what they do, and ease of use & understanding.
If we think of the target audience, It would be close thing between Luckybackup & DejaDup.
I would lean towards Luckybackup, because there is already the makings of an very good "How To" from Gold_Finger
that could possibly be lifted for the Help Manual, all the other options would require a "Help" section creating.

I think if your skills/knowledge have progressed beyond using Luckybackup,
you could probably figure out & install one of the other more complex ones.?

UPDATE: We're edging closer to a first beta release. I was rather apprehensive about what effect adding new software had on performance and memory usage ootb. I'm please to report the following after the latest beta build...

Indeed, as I found and installed onboard early this morning. It's really neat - especially in dim light, when the keyboard is hard to see. Might as well put the touchscreen to good use!
I don't think onboard can be utilized at login, but at least I can touch the 'face', and go straight to entering my password...

I believe the default setting is to save the entire home folder but you can specify what folders you want backed up or ignored. If you are interested in specifically including or excluding a hidden folder, when the file dialog appears, press Ctrl+H and hidden folders will appear.
I only backup .mozilla, .thunderbird, Music, Documents, Pictures, Sounds, and Videos folders to a USB. I ignore Trash and Downloads.

I've used Deja Dup in the past, but currently am using Timeshift for OS snapshots and Back-In-Time for user files.

Hi,
Not sure how long you have been using Linux , Linux Lite.
But if you think back, Would you have used Timeshift/BackInTime then.??
or have you progressed into them, now being more comfortable with Linux.??
It's trying to figure out what would be best for New Users.

Have only made two changes so far. Got rid of xarchiver...it couldn't open a zip file to save it's life...for file-roller. File-roller actually opened a tar bar and opens zip files in seconds. Next replaced Image Viewer with Mirage...the difference is day and nite. Am testing Midori just now and once my comfort level is satisfied Chromium will be toast as well. Strange how FF and Chrome don't react the same for me on this side...they're a whole lot slower,freeze and crash all the time. Midori is very fast and now can follow tutorials with gimp open. Not sure if this is what you're looking for...just my 2 cents.
