One last thing to add to the above, if it's not resolved yet,? and not being sure how you have the printer installed.?
Being that it's an HP printer, did you look in the 
Help Manual from the "
Main Menu".?
Did you install the "
HPLIP_GUI"..?? NO, then 
CTRL-ALT-T to open up a terminal, then enter:

sudo apt-get install hplip-gui
You should then get a new menu option in "
Settings" = "
HPLIP Toolbox"
Depending on if the Printer Supports it you may see various options like 
below to access various printer functions.
((when I clicked on open printer web page, 1st time it prompted me to select my default browser, select whatver you use on the list))
In the Tools section Tab on the webpage are various maintenance tasks, again depending on your printer, you may have "Alignment"
