Please help! I'm missing my menu bars among things.  >Sad
HP g61 - 327cl laptop (deceased)
N68S3B motherboard + Amd Athlon II x2 245 + 4gb ddr3
Lenovo x220 Thinkpad
F2a68hm-s1 motherboard + Amd a6 5400k apu + 8gb ddr3

Consider providing more information.  Apps used with missing menus?  Screenshots?

This is the screen shot. Can't add or remove work spaces among other things. Also an x as my mouse pointer.

Furthermore, as Jerry implored, if you are still on version 1.08, you should upgrade to a newer version.  I'm reading other users on the Linux Lite Forum and Linux Lite Feedback who are having good results on version 3.4 with hardware specs like yours, especially when they enable the Preload and zRAM Lite Tweaks.  Consider booting up to the Live environment of version 3.4 today.
